A big-hearted Husky ready to find his person.
Max is a 6-year-old Siberian Husky with striking blue eyes, a wonderfully goofy personality, and a surprisingly gentle way about him. At around 64 pounds, he may be a big guy, but much of what Max wants is pretty simple: people he can be close to, a comfortable place to settle in, and someone willing to include him in the adventure.
Max came to Wild Heart alongside his brother, Leo, after the two had spent their lives together. While that relationship will always be part of Max's story, we've gotten the opportunity to know Max as an individual—and we've learned that he has plenty of personality, confidence, and affection all his own.
Max is affectionate without needing to be the center of attention every second. He's curious, playful and occasionally mischievous in that unmistakably Husky way. He enjoys being near his people, likes getting out and exploring, and is equally capable of settling down when the adventure is over.
Max has also shown us something important: he doesn't need his brother beside him to be Max. He's capable of building his own relationships, enjoying his own experiences, and forming a strong connection with the people around him.
We think there's a family out there who isn't looking for one half of a pair. They're looking for Max.
A Home for Max — With or Without Leo
Max and Leo have shared much of their lives together, and their relationship will always be part of their story. While they are now available for adoption individually, Wild Heart Haven is also happy to consider a home interested in welcoming both brothers.
Our priority is finding the right home for each dog. Whether Max's next chapter begins on his own or alongside Leo, we'll work with potential adopters to determine the best fit for everyone involved.

Clever, affectionate, curious, and full of personality, Leo is a six-year-old Siberian Husky who has a wonderful way of making himself part of whatever is happening around him.
At about 65 pounds, Leo is an engaging companion who enjoys his people, appreciates attention, and still has plenty of enthusiasm for getting out and experiencing the world. He's playful and adventurous, but he's also perfectly capable of settling in and enjoying the quieter side of life. Give him something interesting to investigate, somewhere new to explore, or people to spend time with, and Leo is happy to be involved.
There's an intelligence behind those blue eyes, too. Leo is observant, confident, and curious about his surroundings—the kind of dog who seems to be taking things in and figuring them out as he goes. He has that unmistakable Husky personality: independent enough to have opinions of his own, social enough to want to be part of the action, and charming enough to make you laugh when those two qualities collide.
A Future with Leo
Leo's next home should be one that wants to enjoy life with him. Walks, adventures, time outside, enrichment, play, and simply hanging out with his people can all be part of his world. He doesn't need constant excitement; he needs people willing to give his active mind and curious nature appropriate ways to stay engaged.
Like many Huskies, Leo is talented at finding opportunities to explore, so a secure home and attentive handling are important. He also has a strong prey drive and should not live with cats or or other animals. Those are important parts of finding Leo the right environment, but they aren't what define him.
What defines Leo is the affectionate, playful, intelligent dog we have gotten to know, the dog who enjoys his people, embraces an adventure, knows how to settle down when it's over, and still approaches life with plenty of curiosity.

Milo is the kind of dog who doesn’t simply ask for affection, he throws his whole heart into it.
Young, playful, and almost comically loving, Milo is known for his full-body hugs, enthusiastic greetings, and ability to make nearly everyone he meets feel like his favorite person. He has a big personality, an even bigger heart, and an infectious excitement for whatever the day brings next.
Milo is approximately eight months old and appears to be a Shepherd/Pitbull mix, with the possibility of some Doberman in his family tree. Whatever combination created him, it produced one remarkably handsome, intelligent, and affectionate dog.
He is house trained, kennel trained, and friendly with dogs, cats, and children. Milo is energetic, curious, and eager to learn. He will thrive with a family prepared to give a young dog the exercise, structure, continued training, and connection he needs.
More than anything, Milo loves his people. He is joyful, deeply affectionate, and ready to make someone’s life considerably less boring.
Milo’s Recovery (updated 9/12/2026)
Milo experienced an injury early in life after being kept chained, which affected the way he moves one of his back legs. More recently, he sustained a broken leg and underwent surgery through the University of Florida’s veterinary team.
He is currently receiving veterinary care and recovering in a temporary medical foster home. Because his healing and follow-up appointments are still underway, Milo is not available for immediate adoption or transfer.
His medical history is part of his story, but it has never defined his personality. Through every stage, Milo has remained playful, affectionate, curious, and completely enthusiastic about life.
We will update his profile as his recovery progresses and his veterinary team provides additional guidance about his long-term needs.
If Milo has captured your attention and you would like to be considered once he is medically cleared, you may contact Wild Heart Haven and ask to remain informed about his recovery. Because several people have already expressed interest, we will prioritize those who continue to follow his journey and confirm that they remain seriously interested when he becomes available.

Playful, curious, sweet, and a little more cautious about handing out her trust, Luna is Milo's sister and very much her own dog.
At approximately eight months old and 42 pounds, Luna is a darker-coated Shepherd/Pitbull mix, with the same possibility of Doberman somewhere in the family tree as her brother.
Where Milo tends to introduce himself with enthusiasm, Luna likes to take a little more time.
She can be timid when meeting someone new and prefers the opportunity to observe, get comfortable, and decide for herself that everything is okay. Give her that time, though, and the playful, curious young dog underneath begins to emerge.
And there's a lot of personality waiting in there.
Luna's Ideal Home
Luna would do best with someone who understands that trust doesn't have to happen in the first five minutes.
She needs a family willing to give her a little room to settle in rather than pushing her into interactions before she's ready. Patience, consistency, continued training, exercise, play, and opportunities to explore will help this young dog continue building confidence.
In return, there's a wonderfully playful and curious companion waiting to come out.
Luna may not immediately throw herself into your arms when you meet her.
Give her a little time to decide you're her person.
Something tells us she'll make earning that trust very worthwhile.
Luna loves to play and explore, and she approaches her surroundings with genuine curiosity. She's interested in what's happening, who's around, and what everyone else is doing. Once she feels comfortable, you get to see much more of the fun-loving young dog behind that initial caution.
Luna does well with other dogs, cats, and children. She can be especially curious about cats, so appropriate introductions and supervision are still important while everyone gets acquainted.
She's also already house trained and kennel trained, giving her a great foundation for a dog her age.

Knoxx is a two-year-old sweetheart with a playful nature, a gentle disposition, and the kind of expressive face that makes him difficult to overlook.
He is affectionate, engaging, and genuinely happy to be included. Whether he is enjoying attention, exploring his surroundings, or simply spending time near his people, Knoxx brings an easy warmth to the moment. There is a softness about him that comes through quickly. and a playful side that reminds you he is still a young dog with plenty of life and personality waiting to unfold.
Now living with a Wild Heart foster family, Knoxx is settling into a more dependable routine and giving us the opportunity to learn what makes him happiest. We are still discovering his favorite activities, habits, and the details that will help us identify his best future home, but his sweet temperament has already made a lasting impression.
Knoxx does not need his past to make him compelling. Spend a little time with him, and he makes his own case.
The World According to Knoxx
Knoxx loves a good walk—not simply for the exercise, but for everything there is to investigate along the way. Every new scent deserves his full attention, and he is perfectly happy letting his nose choose the route whenever given the chance.
That same happiness seems to follow him everywhere. Knoxx carries a bright, easygoing demeanor that rarely seems to run out. He is not much of a barker and does not need to make a lot of noise to express himself. Instead, he lets his eyes do the talking, and those eyes can communicate curiosity, excitement, affection, and the occasional very persuasive request without making a sound.
For Knoxx, even an ordinary walk can become an adventure. He just needs someone who will enjoy seeing the world alongside him.
Knoxx’s Next Chapter
Knoxx recently became an official Wild Heart dog and is now receiving routine veterinary care for the first time. His initial wellness evaluation, vaccinations, preventatives, and other veterinary needs are currently underway.
For that reason, Knoxx is not available for immediate adoption. We are, however, collecting contact information from people who are seriously interested in adopting him and are willing to wait until his veterinary care and evaluation are complete.
Expressing interest does not reserve Knoxx or guarantee adoption. When he is ready, Wild Heart will consider each potential home based on his needs and the strongest long-term fit.
