Our Walls

“Rescue doesn’t end at our fence line”

Not every dog we advocate for lives within Wild Heart Haven’s foster system.

Some belong to trusted rescue partners, fosters, and collaborators we believe deserve more visibility and a better chance at finding the right home.

These are the Wild Hearts beyond our walls.

Wild Heart Haven believes collaboration is one of the only ways forward in a world where far too many dogs are still waiting for help.

No rescue can carry that weight alone.

By working together, across fosters, organizations, advocates, and communities, we create more opportunities for dogs to be seen, supported, and ultimately find the homes they deserve.

Meet Knoxx

Knoxx is a 2-year-old male dog who has found himself in a situation no dog should have to live in. A caring neighbor reached out hoping someone — anyone — could help him, but like so many communities right now, rescues and shelters are already overflowing.

So we are trying to do what we can.

Wild Heart Haven is stepping in to advocate for Knoxx and help him find safety, stability, and the loving forever home he deserves.

Despite everything, Knoxx still carries the playful spirit and hopeful heart every dog should be allowed to keep. Now, he just needs someone willing to give him the chance he’s been missing.

Meet Rufus

Rufus is a 5-year-old male dog whose spirit is slowly being worn down by shelter life.

The constant noise, stress, and confinement are taking a visible toll on him, but outside of the shelter environment, Rufus becomes an entirely different dog.

Calm. Obedient. Smart. Loving. Eager to connect.

The dog hiding beneath the stress is still there. He just needs the chance to breathe again.

Rufus is neutered, fully vaccinated, and would do best as the only animal in the home. With proper training and structure, he may do well with calm, non-dominant dogs.

What Rufus needs most right now is a quiet environment where he can decompress, feel safe, and finally be seen for who he truly is beyond the shelter walls.

Wild Heart Haven is advocating for Rufus because no dog should lose their chance at life simply because the shelter environment is breaking their spirit.

His time is limited, and he urgently needs a foster, adopter, or rescue placement.

Meet Cider

Cider is a 7-year-old Carolina Dog with an energetic spirit, an intelligent mind, and a deep love for exploration and connection.

Like many Carolina Dogs, Cider thrives in environments that provide structure, activity, and room to engage with the world around him. He is active, loving, and highly intelligent, making him an excellent fit for someone who understands the needs of working or primitive breeds and appreciates a dog with both independence and heart.

Cider is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and does well with other dogs. Due to his strong prey drive, he should not be placed in a home with cats.

What Cider truly needs is a home that embraces the lifestyle dogs like him are built for, one with exercise, mental stimulation, consistency, and opportunities to run, explore, and simply enjoy being a dog.

Wild Heart Haven is helping advocate for Cider on behalf of a caring neighbor in hopes of finding the right long-term fit for him. He is currently located in Central Florida, though transportation assistance may be available for the right home.

Cider is a reminder that some dogs are not meant for small lives. They are meant for movement, adventure, and meaningful connection with the people willing to understand them.

Meet Arlo

Arlo is ready to love someone… completely.

At just 2 years old, she’s already learned so much, how to trust, how to follow, how to be the kind of dog who just wants to be near her person.

She’s the kind of dog who will greet you with excitement, settle beside you with ease, and remind you every single day what unconditional love feels like.

  • Sweet

  • Playful

  • Cuddly

  • Loyal

She’s crate trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and she’s done the work to be ready for her forever home.

What she needs now is simple:

  • A home where she can be the only pet

  • A person who chooses her

  • A place where all of her love has somewhere to go

  • Because Arlo doesn’t just want a home…

  • She wants her person.
